---

It's almost October, which means Hacktoberfest is upon us! This year we are celebrating the 10th year of Hacktoberfest and Bytebase is joining the festivities once again.

## What's Hacktoberfest🍺

It is a month-long celebration of open source initiated by DigitalOcean. Hacktoberfest is open to everyone, whether you're an open-source newbie or a seasoned developer, you are welcome to join this global community event!

## How to Participate

- Register anytime between September 26 and October 31
- Pull requests can be made in any GitHub or GitLab hosted project that's participating in Hacktoberfest
- Project maintainers must accept your pull/merge requests for them to count toward your total
- The first 50,000 participants to have their first PR/MR accepted will have a tree planted in their name through Tree Nation
- Participants with four PR/MR accepted between October 1 and 31 will receive a unique digital reward

Check out more details [here](https://hacktoberfest.com/participation/#contributors).

## Bytebase X Hacktoberfest

In addition, we invite you to participate in the special activities here at the Bytebase community! In addition to having the opportunity to receive a tree planted under your name, you also have a (good) chance to claim the following customized digital badges🎁.

## 🔍 How to get digital badges:

- The **Explorer** Badge - Run Bytebase (locally or Cloud) and complete a schema change
- The **LGTM** Badge - [Claim an issue](https://github.com/bytebase/bytebase/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3Ahacktoberfest) with the Hacktoberfest label in the Bytebase GitHub repo and have it merged
- The **Conqueror** Badge - Two options: PostgreSQL/MySQL. Publish a tutorial on the topic of "Database GitOps with Bytebase for PostgreSQL or MySQL". FYI, here's [an example](https://docs.bytebase.com/tutorials/gitops-github-workflow/).

Once you complete any of the above tasks between October 1 and 31, please send a screenshot or a link, along with your GitHub ID to [us](mailto:support@bytebase.com), Subject: Hacktoberfest Badge Claim.
