We're changing the way teams and AI agents work with databases

Bytebase is built by the former tech leads of Google Cloud SQL and Google's API infrastructure.

For years, database work has lagged behind the rest of modern software development. Application code evolved. Infrastructure became programmable. But databases were still managed through scripts, tickets, and shared credentials.

As teams scaled, the risks scaled with them: outages caused by manual changes, over-privileged access, audit scrambles, and knowledge trapped in a few people's heads. Now AI agents access and change those same databases too — multiplying both the speed and the exposure.

We built Bytebase to change that — and to make it the standard for database development. Every product and engineering decision serves that goal, built on three principles:

   Bring every database under unified control. Every person and AI agent accesses and changes data through one governed path.

   Govern change and access as code. Reviewed, enforced, and recorded by policy, not by discipline.

   Make the safe path the easy path. Safe by default, simple by design — so no one routes around it.
